Our Origin

The name Te Ara means the pathway — and it carries the weight of real history. Long before roads and borders, a network of trade routes linked Te Waipounamu to the Waikato, carrying pounamu north across generations. These were not simply trade routes; they were relationships — between iwi, between regions, between people who understood that connection was the foundation of prosperity.

Along these same coastal and inland paths, the black ironsands of the western shoreline tell a parallel story — one of resource, industry, and the practical relationship between people and land. Where pounamu speaks to what is treasured and enduring, ironsand speaks to what is worked, built, and put to use. Together, they form the two materials at the heart of this development's identity: the dark and the green, carried north along Te Ara, now carried forward into a new chapter.

This is why the name matters. Te Ara Commercial Park is not simply a location — it is a continuation of a much older story about movement, connection, and the exchange of value between people and place.

Our Ownership

Te Ara Commercial Park is owned and developed by Te Ara Commercial Limited, wholly owned by Taharoa Holdings Limited, which is in turn wholly owned by Taharoa C Block Incorporation.

Taharoa C Block Incorporation exists to hold and grow value on behalf of its shareholders, across generations. Te Ara Commercial Park is one expression of that responsibility: an opportunity to convert land into lasting, intergenerational value, guided by the same principles that have always underpinned the Incorporation's stewardship — care for the land, care for the people connected to it, and a long view of what prosperity means.

Our Purpose
